A computer system is only as good as its use. If the user can't "use" the system, the quality of the code doesn't matter. This may be a little overstated, but not much. The Human Computer Interface is one of the primary factors in determining the success (or failure) of a computer system.
This course will examine both the theory and the practice of human computer interfaces. Material for the course will come from the textbooks, journal articles, and the instructor's personal experiences (personal stories!). Several projects will be completed in Tcl and software tools of the student's choice. The class will make use of a number of Internet resources for additional class material, class communication, and project/paper submissions.
